Youth Pork Quality Assurance, Parlimentary Procedure Training, Rabbit Expectations Packet, Record Books, and Goat Expo

Youth Pork Quality Assurance
This year, we will be holding a Youth Pork Quality Assurance (PQA) class on March 23rd at 7:00pm at the Jackson MSUE office. The class will take approximately one and a half hours to complete.  Please remember that PQA certification is required for all youth that are bringing swine to the 2016 Jackson County Fair. Swine leaders ask that you have your certification prior to the paperwork check in date. Members will be asked to show proof of certification at that time. If you are unable to attend the face-to-face PQA session, we will be offering the online option again this year. Details for online PQA classes will be posted at a later date.  Contact the Extension Office if you have any questions.

Parliamentary Procedure Training

On Sunday March 27th, we will be holding a Parliamentary Procedure Training from 2:00pm-4:00pm. This free, interactive, and fun workshop is open to both adults and youth. All board members (adult and youth) are strongly encouraged to attend to learn how to run a meeting and everyone is welcome. Each club that has a representative at this training will receive a set of table flags and a gavel. Door prizes will also be given away at this training. Contact Britney at if you have any questions.

Rabbit Expectations Packet
The Rabbit Expectations Packet is now available. It is located under the Fair Documents tab of our website.

Record Books
Record Books will be posted under the Fair Documents tab as they are completed. Currently, we have Beef books available. Other books will be posted soon.

State 4-H Goat Expo
The State 4-H Goat Expo is being held April 16th, 2016. This Expo is designed for young people who are interested in live animal evaluation and in testing their knowledge of the goat (caprine) industry in a fun and educational manner. This event includes contests in judging, quiz bowl, skillathon, creative writing and problem-solving.

State 4-H Goat Expo events are open to participants aged 9 to 19 by Jan. 1 of the current year. You must be a 4-H member but you don’t have to be enrolled in a 4-H goat project to compete. Some contests are designed for both team and individual competition. Spectators are welcome!
