Meet Jim Dodge: Part-time Horticulture Program Coordinator

Jim Dodge was born in Jackson and grew up on a dairy farm in Henrietta Township. He is married to Lynne and they have four daughters and four grandchildren.

Jim graduated from East Jackson High School and received his Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University with a major in Soil Science. He received his Master of Science also from Michigan State University in Crop Science with specialization in seed science. In addition, Jim attended Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa, Oklahoma and Grand Rapids School of Bible in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Jim’s interests are sundials, flying and aviation mechanics, botanic gardens, canoeing and RC model airplanes. His hobbies include beekeeping, camping, ornamental grasses and woodworking.

A goal of Jim’s is to watch less TV, do more reading, and to use his time and personal skills more wisely.

His part-time hours are Monday – Thursday 8:00 am to 1:00 pm.
