Food Preservation for the Holidays: "How To" Tips and Techniques

Our very own Jan Seitz is partnering with several other Extension Educators to offer a 3-part food preservation series for the fall semester of Evening College at Michigan State University. Evening College offers non-credit evening and weekend personal enrichment courses which provide intellectual, social, and cultural learning experiences. Programs are open to all adults.

Not only will this course provide you with "how to" tips and techniques for safe food preservation but you will also gain a plethora of gift ideas for future holidays and celebrations. Join Jan Seitz and her team from MSU Extension and learn safe techniques for:
  • Making jams and jellies from fresh and frozen fruit
  • Making safe and tasty flavored vinegars
  • Canning for safe venison/meat preservation
  • Freezing techniques for baked gods and make-ahead dishes
